2012 Risk Management

16th November 2011

As part of our risk management strategy, following a NSW Transport and Maritime Report conducted in 2011. We are implementing the following changes this year to the event, with the approval of Ski Racing Australia.

All competitors are requested to provide picture id when signing in at briefing and for breathalysers.

There will be changes on the course, such as more buoys and no passing areas – it is important that all members of your crew attend the briefing.

All boats are to be scrutineered within the two weeks prior to the event.

* A new Southern 80 scrutineering form will be available from our website from 27th January 2011.

* We will arrange for this to be emailed to all SRA approved scrutineers and all team captains.

* On Sunday 29th January there will be a scrutineering day at the MWSC offices in Annesley st Echuca from 10am -3pm. There will be a BBQ available too. You may wish to take advantange of this day to get your boat scrutineered prior to the 2012 Club Marine Southern 80.

* A New Crack test certificate (if applicable) needs to sighted by the scrutineer and acknowledged on the scrutineering form.

*If you compete in an event after this scrutineering; your scrutineering is null and void and must be done again.

*You will then need to present a Southern 80 Scrutineering Form (other scrutineering forms will not be accepted) on Friday 10th February at the Briefing and paperwork finalisation area.

* There are no exceptions to these rules; all boats are to be scrutineered prior to the event.

The entries for the event will be capped based on the number of entries from last year’s event.  A graph will be displayed on our web page indicating the number of entries processed prior to the closing date for the event.

It is recommended that at least one Telstra mobile phone be carried in the boat, as this service has been found to provide the best coverage in this area, in the case of an emergency.  Please ensure that this number is noted against one of your team members in the event, in the case that we need to contact you urgently.
